To get dirty water to appear, you will need to find a sink. Most of the maps in Phasmophobia have at least one sink in them, so you shouldn’t have a problem locating one. Getting dirty water to flow from the tap, instead of clean water, is down to the ghost and not you, though. If you interact with the sink by turning the tap on, you will only get clean water. So, how do you get dirty water to flow from the tap in Phasmophobia?

The first thing you need to do is ensure that your group takes the camera with them from the investigations truck. You will need this to take a picture of the dirty water as evidence. Once someone has it, head into the house or building, and locate a sink. You can find one in the kitchen, bathroom, or restroom.

Make sure that your entire party is in the same area. The ghost is more likely to get annoyed if all four of you are in the same room. Start asking it questions and, if you find out the ghost’s name, start saying its name repeatedly to frustrate it even more.

Once you think you have annoyed it enough, ask the ghost to turn on the water. If you are successful, dirty water should begin running through the tap. Take a photograph of it for evidence.

Be aware that the ghost could turn on a tap in another room, so listen out for running water elsewhere in the house. It’s also worth noting that, whichever room the dirty water begins running, it means that the ghost is in that area of the house. Prepare yourself for a possible encounter with it if you see or hear dirty water.

Some players claim that they have turned a tap on, seen clear water, to begin with, and then noticed it turn to dirty water when a ghost enters the room that they are in. This method is very hit and miss, though, so it’s best to follow the formula above to get dirty water every time.
