How to get the Rust Bow in Genshin Impact

Old, but gold.
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

The Rust Bow is a hot topic in Genshin Impact right now. With so many powerful characters being armed with bows, the race is on to find the best one in the game. Unfortunately, it’s not that simple as the weapon you use should complement your overall build. The Rust Bow is an interesting option as it will benefit your basic attacks, making it a good option for some users.

First things first, the Rust Bow is a Wish weapon. We have not found any source for it outside of Wishes, so prepare to play that Gacha game to get it. The best way to approach Gacha weapons is to not chase them through endlessly spamming wishes. Save up for 10 wishes, then buy them in bulk to take advantage of the guaranteed rarer drops that you will get in those packs.

For the best chance of getting the Rust Bow, it would seem that the current Ballad in Goblets Banner has the best chance to drop it.

Rust Bow Stats

  • 4 Star Bow
  • Base ATK – 42 (Level 1)
  • Secondary Stat Type – ATK
  • Secondary Stat – 9%
  • Passive – Increases Normal Attack DMG by 40% – 80% depending on Ascended Level but decreases Aimed Shot DMG by 10%.

As you can see, the Rust Bow provides impressive increases to ATK damage, which is not usually the standout part of any Bow. It will really shine on characters where you are building a large amount of ATK damage to take advantage of their abilities. Remember, Elemental Mastery will increase the damage of synergy effects such as Melt, Swirl, Electro Charged, etc, but it is flat ATK that will increase the damage of things like Cryo, Pyro, Anemo, etc.

As such, you will need to make some choice about what exactly you want to do with your bow-wielding character. If you want them to be the character who casts first in a chain, doing the initial damage type, build them for ATK, you can then follow that up with a character built with a good Elemental Mastery stat to take advantage of the high base damage done by the initial ability.
