This year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare entry is shaping up to be an exciting title. Players are returning to the franchise to check out the new, soft reboot of the franchise, to zero in the exciting multiplayer aspects, and the return of Spec Ops. If you’re looking for an action-filled game, Modern Warfare has it. Now, if you’re a multiplayer fan, you’re going to want to play with as many people available to get into a match. To do this, you can enable crossplay, which is available at launch. Here’s how you do it for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and the PC.

The process is going to be the same for every platform, so don’t feel like there’s a special method you need to follow for every platform. The best part is you can do it from the main menu. When you’re on the main menu, look down to the bottom left of your screen and hit the options. This takes you to the large readout area where you can see the several different options for you to go through and play with to optimize your experience in the game. For crossplay, you’re looking for the “Account,” choice.

When you click that, you’re going to find “Crossplay” as the first option on the menu. From there, you can choose to disable or enable it. Crossplay is immediately enabled in the game. However, players who are using a controller are not going to face off against those using a mouse and keyboard. There are options available to enable this, but they are not active from the start. If you’re a PC player and you want to play with those using a controller on a console, you need to turn your controller on in the options menu and have it active during gameplay.

That’s all there is to it. You don’t have to do too much else besides flipping this switch. Crossplay is that simple, and it’s great there’s an option for it. Some games which introduce crossplay may not offer the same option to turn it off, which is excellent if developers want all of their players to matchmake together. But some might feel players on specific consoles are going to have an unfair advantage.

Remember, while the feature is available at launch, players do not need to use it to play the game. So, feel free to play with those only on your platform or not. Nothing’s stopping you from making these decisions.
