Call of Duty: Modern Warfare released this week, but it has not all been smooth sailing for the game. Different error codes, crashes, and issues have been impacting some players. One problem that seems to be affecting a lot of players is error code Savannah. In this guide, we will run through what we have discovered about this particular error code.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – Savannah Error Code Explained

If you have been getting an error when trying to join friends that end with error code Savannah, the issue may boil down to what version of the game you are on.

“Unable to join game session, the host cannot be joined or gameplay is paused. Status: SAVANNAH”

If you, or your friend, have not installed the most recent update to the game, you will not be able to join their lobby as they cannot host people on different versions in the same lobby.

The main thing to do to try and resolve this issue is to make sure your game is entirely up to date. If you play on PlayStation 4, find the game in your Library, press the options button, and then select “Check for Update,” the system will then download any available update that hasn’t installed yet.

On Xbox One, go to My Games, find the game you wish to update, select Manage Game, then scroll down to Updates. If you are playing on PC, go to the game in your Blizzard App library, then click on Options at the top of the game’s panel, then Check for Updates.

This process will, hopefully, resolve the issue for you. If not, there isn’t much else you can try, and will have to wait until Infinity War or Activision resolve the issue at their end.
