You can only get the Merry Mint Pickaxe by redeeming a special code that you will get by purchasing Fortnite V-Bucks cards in select stores. According to the Epic blog post, “Select retailers in the US, United Kingdom, France, and Germany will include a gift code for an in-game Merry Mint Pickaxe free with any purchase of an officially licensed Fortnite product while supplies last*.”

According to the same blog post, retailers are on the way for Mexico, Canada, and Germany, though it doesn’t say if they will be selling the V-Bucks cards in time to take advantage of this cosmetic offer.

If you head into one of the participating stores and purchase 10 dollars worth of V-Bucks, make sure you ask before the purchase if the code is available. There seems to be a limited number of codes, and you don’t want to purchase something from a retailer who is all out of them.

Once you get the code with your purchase, you need to head over to the Fortnite redeem website and log into your account, then put in the code. As long as your game is fully up to date, the next time you log in, you will receive your Merry Mint Pickaxe!
