Death Stranding is about dragging cargo across a dangerous world to try and connect people. One of the things that help you do this is BB, the Bridge Baby. There are some specific controls related to Bridge Baby that some people out there might want to change, the dreaded motion controls.

Death Stranding does have some things that involve motion controls. I am aware that some folks don’t like motion controls, and it can detract from the game for them. In this guide, we will show you how to turn off motion controls in Death Stranding. I’m going to give a mild spoiler warning, just because Death Stranding often closely links story beats and mechanics, so read on at your peril.

How To Switch Off Motion Controls In Death Stranding

In Death Stranding, you use motion controls to sooth BB. BB is just a baby in a jar, so sometimes, you will need to sooth them if they get upset. If you don’t want to use the motion controls to do this, follow the below steps to turn them off:

  • Open the Option Menu
  • Navigate to Control Settings
  • Scroll down to Controls for Soothing BB

This will then give you the option to use motion controls or to use R2 to sooth the Bridge Baby. Remember, the world you will be traveling through is quite scary and treacherous, so be sure to keep an eye on little BB and make sure they are doing okay as you make your deliveries.

You can make the above change to the control scheme at any time, even from the in-game menu. If you wish to play through the game with motion controls on, to see if you like the mechanic, you can then easily change it if you don’t enjoy it.
