Here’s how you get the Choice Band in Pokémon Sword and Shield
The Choice Band is a useful item for your Pokémon to hold in Pokémon Sword and Shield. When a Pokémon holds it, their attack power dramatically increases. However, much like the Choice Scarf, it limits them to using the first move they do during a fight. So if you have an Obstagoon hold the item, and they use Slam as their first move, they can only use that attack for the remainder of the battle. It resets after each fight.
It’s important to note you cannot retrieve this item until you have the Rotom Bicycle upgrade where you can cross the water on your bike. If you don’t have this yet, you need to defeat the sixth Gym leader and proceed through Route 9.
To find this item, you need to make your way back to Route 2, where you began your journey in Pokémon Sword and Shield. Make your way through the route and proceed to the front of Professor Magnolia’s house, where there’s a bridge leading to home from the route.
Proceed to the right side of the bridge on the side of the Professor’s house. Make sure you’re on your Rotom Bicycle and proceed to the right side of the bridge into the river. Continue down the right side, and it shouldn’t take you too long to reach a small alcove where a Poké Ball is on land. Ride up to it on the land and grab the ball to add the Choice Band to your collection.
You want to make sure you give it to a Pokémon who predomintally uses physical attacks, which is the explosion icon you see when you view the Category of a Pokémon move. The alternative you don’t want to have is the circle with multiple rings inside of its icon, which stands for special attacks.
