Making the best team in Pokémon Sword and Shield goes beyond having the top-tier Pokémon. You also need to know how to take care of them and give them the best items to turn them into truly great combatants.

The Choice Specs will significantly boost the Special Attack of any Pokémon holding it.

A great item to give your Pokémon is the Choice Specs. You can find them naturally progressing through the game.

Make your way over to Spikemuth, which is where you can find the Gym Leader Piers. He has a variety of Dark-type Pokémon at his disposal. Before you face off against him, though, you can find the Choice Specs near the stage.

Approach the stage as you normally would, and you should see him giving a show to a gang of Team Yell members. To the right side of the stage, there’s a handful of crates and barrels. Behind them is a PokéBall. Run up to it and pick it up, adding the Choice Specs to your inventory.
