Your internet connection matters

The most important factor is your internet connection. If you have a slow connection, there is not much you can do to get a faster one without upgrading it. You can, at least, follow the below tips to make sure it’s going as fast as it can.

Download things one at a time

Having lots of things downloading at once is a surefire way to slow things down. Make sure you download things one at a time to get them as fast as possible.

To manage your downloads, hit the PS button and check for a downwards arrow icon. Click on that and then highlight any game you want to pause. Hit the options button and select pause to do so. When you want to start it downloading again, just go back in and hit resume.

Ensure your firmware is up to date

Firmware updates improve different aspects of a console over the course of its life. To make sure you are fully updated, go to the Settings, Systems, System Software, and then System Software Updates and Settings.

Click on Update System Software and pick your update method to ensure you are fully up to date.

Use a wired connection

Yes, Wi-Fi is convenient, but compared to a wired connection it is slow. That’s just how physics works. For the best possible download speeds, make sure you are connected to the internet via an ethernet cable.
