How to upgrade house storage space to 2,400 items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

More space for all of your stuff.

The Animal Crossing: New Horizons winter update unlocks various seasonal content for players looking to add winter and holiday items to their island. These items will only be available for a limited time, and they come out alongside the 1.6 update, which every player receives on November 19. The update also comes with the ability for all players to increase their home’s standard 1,600 storage space limit to 2,400.

If you want to increase this limit, you need to speak with Tom Nook at your island’s visitor’s center to make the arrangement. It’ll work like every other upgrade you’ve made to yourself, so you can expect to talk with him, make the arrangements to increase your home’s storage, and head back home. It will take a full day, and 500,000 bells to complete.

Once inside your residence when the construction has finished, you’ll be able to immediately access the storage unit by clicking down on your D-pad, adding any items you want to keep save.

However, you can only increase your home’s storage limit to 2,400 if you have the largest upgrade unlock. You will also need to pay off your outstanding debt to Tom Nook, the 2.5 million bell payment before he’s willing to talk to you about making increase storage space arrangements.

So long as you meet those requirements, you’ll be able to enjoy the extra space in your house. With more seasonal updates coming to Animal Crossing, the increased space is a welcome addition.
