How to get the D.I.E. Shockwave Wonder Weapon in Die Maschine – Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies

Get your hands on the newest Wonder Weapon.... for free!
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Zombies mode in Call of Duty has a long history of providing players with powerful weapons that will help them survive the hordes of never-ending zombies. Wonder Weapons, as they are called, offer a unique flavor to the usual militaristic guns you see on each map. The Wonder Weapon in the Die Maschine Zombies map of Black Ops Cold War is called the D.I.E. Shockwave. It can suck the souls out of zombies to regain ammo, and it can also be equipped with four different effects that will change the way the weapon works.

If you are lucky, you can attempt to get the Wonder Weapon out of the box, but you could be in a loop spending your important points until you earn it. There is a guaranteed way for one person in your party to get the D.I.E. Shockwave for free in every match — here is how to do it.

Turn on the power

First, you need to make your way into the map’s basement and turn on the power and activate Pack-a-Punch.

Kill the Megaton Zombie(s)

You need to kill a Megaton Zombie and the two halves it eventually splits into. Your first chance to face these boss zombies is around level 8 or 9. First, you will need to whittle down the Megaton’s health until it says it is immune to your damage — it will then split into two radioactive zombies. Once you take down this pair, look for a keycard in the loot it drops and pick it up. It will be a golden rarity item.

Go to the Weapons Lab

When you have the keycard, make your way to the Weapons Lab. This is the room with the giant bomb in it and Deadshot Daiquiri below. Go into the area with the computers and use your keycard to open a drawer for the D.I.E remote control.

Go to the Living Room

Now that you have the remote, make your way into the Living Room in Nacht Der Untoten. To the right side of a room, which has a door you can’t open, you can look through a hole in the wall and see a skeleton. This lost soul is holding our Wonder Weapon.

While looking through the hole, interact with it to turn the door in front of them into a trap of sorts. The D.I.E. will start sucking in through the door, and you need to lead zombies through its path. Don’t worry about running through the stream; it won’t hurt you. Still, keep in mind that it will not always grab zombies as they traverse through.

When the weapon is charged up enough from catching zombie souls, the trap will turn off, and you will need to go to the hole in the wall and interact when a Discharge prompt appears. The door will break down and you can pick up the D.I.E. Shockwave. If you do not get enough souls in your first run of the trap, you will need to wait for the weapon to cool down before you can start it again. Congratulations — you’ve earned Die Maschine’s Wonder Weapon with minimal effort.
