How to unlock the Nuketown ’84 Easter egg filter in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

Who needs next-gen graphics anyway?

With another rendition of Nuketown, there comes another glorious Easter egg to find. In Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s Nuketown ’84, the first free map of many to come in the game, players can add a trippy ’80s themed filter by partaking in one simple, but timed objective.

How to see the Nuketown ’84 filter

To see the filter, it will not matter whether you’re playing the map in a public or custom match. However, you will need a few people to aid you, as it’s almost impossible to complete the Easter egg in time by yourself.

  1. If you cannot come up with a large group of friends to help, you’ll need to enter a lobby with a cooperative bunch of enemy players. So far, it seems those playing Free For All are the most beneficial.
  2. Once you’re on the map, hunt down and shoot all of the heads off mannequins in under 60 seconds. It’s best to split up and start at the backyard of each house and then make way to the middle.
  3. After that is done, your screen should go black and the filter should be applied quickly after. By the looks of it, there are different ones to unlock, such as a blue filter with a gorgeous pink sky and another that gives off that classic black and green arcady touch.

After the Easter egg is found, it will remain in the game until the match ends. Unfortunately, there’s no zombie mannequins to see this time around, but it’s a nice touch for those who want to kick it old school.
