The Call of Duty co-developer took to their official Twitter account to share an update on the issue and revealed that they would be addressing the unbalanced nature of certain guns in Warzone soon.

In recent weeks, thousands of players had taken to Warzone’s Reddit page to express their dissatisfaction at the “unplayable” state of Call of Duty’s battle royale mode. Following Warzone’s Season One update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on December 16, players began reporting that guns, including the DMR-14 and Mac 10, needed to be nerfed. As other gamers became aware of the exploit, more began utilizing these weapons regularly. Warzone fans have called out the issue as “game-breaking,” as skill gaps and ranks meant little in the scheme of things.

Frustrated players had called upon Raven, Treyarch, and Activision to pull the unbalanced weapons from Warzone, but due to company workforces taking time off over the festive period, fan messages went unanswered. Prominent Call of Duty players, including YouTuber JackFrags, even called on Warzone’s developers to communicate with their player base on a more regular basis ahead of Raven’s statement.

Raven Software revealed that a balance update would be incoming soon, which would only affect Warzone, but did not elaborate on when the patch would go live. Fans have welcomed the announcement, and hopefully, it isn’t long before the update addresses this issue.
