Ubisoft appears to have accidentally leaked a Ghost Recon Breakpoint x Rainbow Six Siege live event ahead of schedule. On Wednesday, eagle-eyed fans of the developer and publisher received a push notification from Ubisoft’s YouTube channel, which revealed an announcement trailer for an upcoming crossover event concerning the two Ubisoft properties. The footage was swiftly deleted after the company’s YouTube team realized it had posted before its official reveal, but not before screenshots of the notification were grabbed by internet users. You can view the image in question on image-sharing site Imgur.
The accidental reveal comes three months after Ubisoft teased an “exciting crossover event” back in October 2020. In a blog post on the company’s official website, Ubisoft explained that a free crossover event would arrive in Ghost Recon Breakpoint in early 2021. This tracks with the Rainbow Six Siege trailer gaffe from earlier today, so it’s possible that this is the live event that Ubisoft was referring to last year. We have reached out to Ubisoft for comment and will update this article if we hear back.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint is expected to receive a new patch, called Title Update 3.1.0, in January or February 2021, which should include the Rainbow Six Siege event. The game had already received a Splinter Cell crossover event during its 2.0.0 Title Update in March 2020.
