How to pick Red or Green version for your Kanto Tour ticket in Pokemon Go

The Pokémon Go Kanto Tour event will happen on February 20. The event will give all participants a chance to encounter and capture all 150 Pokémon from the Kanto region, capping off the region celebrations at the start of 2021. All of it is to celebrate the 25-anniversary of Pokémon, and what better way to celebrate it than capturing all the original 150 Pokémon?

For the event, all trainers will have the chance to pick between having a Red version ticket, or a Green version. Both come with the same, but slightly different, packages. Players who have a Green version will only be able to capture certain Pokémon, and the same goes for those who pick a Red version. If players want to capture all 150 Pokémon, they’ll have to trade with players who chose the opposite ticket, promoting the original concept of having to trade between Pokémon games.

If you’ve already purchased a Kanto Ticket, then you will have to pick what version you want to go with. Here’s how you do it.

• Go to your Item Bag in your inventory
• Your Kanto Ticket should be in the bag, and you have to click it to bring up the choice
• You have to click the Red or Green version, and then confirm, and accept your choice

Once players pick what version they want to go with, there’s no going back. You will not be able to swap before or during the event. Make sure you pick a version that your friends are not going with, making trading far easier during the event to secure all 150 Pokémon.
