Even though Sony San Diego did not officially confirm a Stadium Creator feature in MLB The Show 21 back in February, it seemed more likely than not that it would be in the game. In mid-February, the MLB The Show team nonchalantly stated in a trailer description that a stadium building mode would be included in the title. We never received official confirmation from San Diego Studios that it would be in MLB The Show 21 until March.
On March 2, Sony unveiled a brand new trailer that showcased some of the new features players can expect on the next-generation version of MLB The Show 21. Among those new additions is, in fact, a Stadium Creator mode.
However, Sony San Diego explicitly stated during the showcase of the new mode that Stadium Creator would only be available for next-gen consoles. So, if you were planning on constructing your own dome or open-air stadium on the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, it appears that you’re out of luck.
Last year, the MLB The Show team upped their customization game, allowing players to change which stadiums the MLB team used.
This year, Sony San Diego has taken their game to the next level, or next-generation if you will. However, it is a bit disappointing that this feature will only be available to next-gen players, especially given the state of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X market at the moment.
