Will Incarnate Forme Tornadus be shiny in five-star raids in Pokémon Go? – March 6, 2021

Shiny Tornadus is a force of nature.

You don’t have too many opportunities to take on the legendary Pokémon in Pokémon Go. They appear in five-star raids or as a reward for the Battle League for a limited time, and then they disappear. For those seeking to capture Incarnate Forme Tornadus, from March 6 to the 11, you’ll have a chance to capture it in five-star raids or by reaching rank 10 in the Battle League. An additional bonus to going up against Tornadus this time around is that you’ll have the chance to catch its shiny version. Niantic has confirmed the shiny version, and all players have the same chance, albeit small, to encounter a shiny Tornadus.

We recommend working with as many players as possible to try and take down Tornadus in five-star raids. It’s a Flying-type Pokémon, making it weak to Electric, Ice, and Rock-type moves. Because it’s only a Flying-type, that’s all you need to worry about when battling it.

The other way you can acquire a shiny Incarnate Forme Tornadus is by earning rank 10 in the Battle League. While Tornadus is available, the Great League is happening, so you only need to have a trio of Pokémon that does not exceed 1,500 CP. For most players, that’s pretty doable.

Those are the two big ways you’ll be able to encounter Tornadus. Like all Pokémon in Pokémon Go, there’s a small chance of it being shiny. There’s no guaranteed method for this to happen. The only way to increase your chances is to keep battling Tornadus is five-star raids. While Tornadus is a legendary Pokémon, we consider it the weakest among the Forces of Nature trio. We recommend waiting for its Therian Forme to appear later in March or go after the next legendary Pokémon, Thundurus.
