Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town is all about building up the family farm, something genre veterans will be well used to at this point. One of the most basic things players will need to do is use their tools.
In the early game, the tools you need are given to you by the Mayor, but they won’t just appear in your inventory. You will need to equip them yourself, and this can actually be a little awkward as they will be in a special part of the inventory.
To equip your tools, you need to hit the X button to open the main menu, then go to the Bag tab. Below four different rows of squares, you will see an option called Tool Bag. Navigate to this and click on it.
Now, in there you will find your tools, so click on the one you want, and drag it up to the two bars marked as 1 and 2. Put the tools in any square you like, it is a simple task to navigate between the two by hitting up and down on the D-Pad.
It is a good idea to place all the tools in one of the bars and just use it as a dedicated toolbar, then use the other for seeds and other such items. As you play through the game you will unlock enough tools to completely fill one of the bars, so it just makes sense to organize them all together in that way.
