How to get The Palindrome legendary hand cannon and god rolls in Destiny 2

Draw, O Coward!

Destiny 2’s Season of the Chosen introduces three new Nightfall exclusive weapons to farm for. These weapons include Shadow Price, The Swarm, and The Palindrome. All of which can be acquired by completing the Nightfall activity as a random reward. In this guide, we will be focusing on The Palindrome and the perk combinations we have found to be the most viable for both PvE and PvP activities.

Stats and Perks

The Palindrome is a void energy hand cannon of the Adaptive Frame archetype, making it a very well-rounded weapon by itself. With the addition of perks, it can make it shine through the various activities that Destiny 2 has to offer.

  • Impact – 84
  • Range – 55
  • Stability – 62
  • Handling – 55
  • Reload Speed – 48
  • Rounds Per Minute – 140
  • Magazine – 10

Perks

The Palindrome can roll with various perks such as Outlaw, Overflow, Killing Wind, Quickdraw, One For All, Rampage, Rangefinder, and Thresh. Some of these perk combinations work extremely well with one another, while others not so much. Note that RNG is an ever-present factor, so your mileage may vary in how soon and successful you may be.

God Rolls

With the perks, The Palindrome can roll in mind, we have found two rolls (one for PvE and one for PvP) that make this weapon really come into its own. For simplicity’s sake, we will be focusing on the last two perks as most barrel and magazine perks are really up to personal preference.

PvE

  • Outlaw/One For All – One For All works by hitting three separate targets within a generous amount of time, causing it to gain a damage boost. We have found that this damage boost is a bit more substantial than what the Rampage perk offers. Combining that with the reload benefit of Outlaw, this weapon has no problem with clearing out minor enemies and any accompanying major enemies.

PvP

  • Quickdraw/Rangefinder – A relatively common perk setup for PvP activities, and for a good reason. This perk roll will allow this weapon to maintain its damage at range, allowing you to sight in quickly then reach out and touch your enemies at a distance. An additional alternative is Killing Wind in place of Quickdraw. Killing Wind gives you increased mobility, range, and handling after securing a final blow.

Curated

  • Subsistence/One For All – It was discovered that The Palindrome also has a curated roll. While we haven’t had much luck getting this one to drop for us, maybe others will have better luck. These two perks working together offer a nice synergy allowing the weapon to be reloaded from reserves thanks to Subsistence by getting kills with the damage buff from One For All. The more kills you can get, the more you can keep firing. Keep in mind that Subsistence also decreases your ammo reserve.
