How to beat Mega Manectric in Pokémon Go – Weaknesses, counters, strategies

Another mega Pokémon to add to your roster.

The mega evolved Pokémon in Pokémon Go are powered up versions of the standard creatures you’re used to seeing. It’s a step above the standard Pokémon’s evolution, making them significantly stronger and increasing their stats in multiple formats. However, this form does not last forever, and trainers will be consistently battling against mega Pokémon to acquire more mega energy to evolve their favorite choices. Mega Manectric is one of those Pokémon options. If you’re looking to acquire mega energy to mega evolve your Manectric, you want to make sure you battle against this Pokémon whenever you see it in a mega raid, and you want to bring your best Pokémon to defeat it. These battles are similar to the five-star raids against legendary Pokémon.

All Mega Manectric weaknesses

Mega Manectric is an Electric-type Pokémon. It will be weak to Ground-type moves, but it’s resistant to Electric, Flying, and Steel-type attacks. You’ll want to focus on Ground and Rock-type Pokémon that primarily use Ground-type attacks against it.

Best Pokémon to counter Mega Manectric

We highly recommend you use Garchomp, Groudon, or Incarnate Landorus to coutner Mega Manectric.

Garchomp is a Dragon and Ground-type Pokémon. It’s harder to acquire Ground-type choices because it’s also a Dragon-type, the rarest Pokémon to catch in Pokémon Go. It has some of the highest stats for a non-legendary Pokémon in the game, making it an ideal option against Mega Manectric and almost any other Electric-type Pokémon. The best moveset you can give Garchomp is the fast move mud shot, and the charged moves outrage and earthquake.

The next Pokémon is the legendary Groudon, a Ground-type Pokémon. It sits at the top of the list as the best Master League Pokémon for anyone to use for many trainers. It has a wonderfully diverse set of attacks, but it has enough Ground-type ones to make it a worthy adversary for Mega Manectric. You’ll want to stick with those to do the most damage to it. The best moveset Groudon can use against Mega Manectric will be the fast move mud shot and the charged moves earthquake and fire punch.

The final Pokémon we’re going to recommend is Incarnate Forme Landorus, the Ground and Flying-type Pokémon. Despite it being a Flying-type, it is resistant to Electric-type attacks, meaning it won’t take any extra damage whenever Mega Manectric uses any of them during the battle. Landorus is also a legendary Pokémon and the most powerful of the Forces of Nature trio. If you have one in your collection, using it against Mega Manectric is the perfect chance to see what your Landorus is made of. The best moveset Landorus will be the fast move mud shot, followed by the charged moves rock slide and earth power.

Top Pokémon to counter Mega Manectric

You need a full party of six Pokémon to participate in the raids. While we recommend the choices listed above, you might need to pick from choices not considered here, and we have some more recommendations for you to counter Mega Manectric.

  • Excadrill
  • Krookodile
  • Mudsdale
  • Swampert
