How to farm Riftborn Regalia in Genshin Impact

Bring a big milk-bone.

Some materials to ascend your characters in Genshin Impact can be quite rare or difficult to obtain. They usually involve delving into Domains or fighting bosses, which is precisely the case with Riftborn Regalia. This material is used for character ascension, but you will have to fight a boss and expend resin to get it. This guide will explain where you need to go and how to farm Riftborn Regalia in Genshin Impact.

Where to find Riftborn Regalia in Genshin Impact

There is only one creature that drops Riftborn Regalia in Genshin Impact, and that is the Golden Wolflord boss. He can be found at the southern point of Tsurumi Island in Inazuma. To gain access to that area, you will first need to complete the Through the Mists questline before having the chance to face the boss. But beating him is just one part of the acquisition because you will also need to spend 40 Original Resin to claim the Trounce Blossom he leaves behind and unlock the loot.

How to beat Golden Wolflord in Genshin Impact

Golden Wolflord deals Physical and Geo damage and has several moves that you should try to avoid. But the main issue with this boss is that he tends to float for extended periods, leaving very few opportunities for melee attackers to reach him. He drops low enough for only very brief moments after using his tornado, laser, and ramming attacks. He also has an attack that covers a large portion of the arena, making it dangerous for melee fighters chasing him.

For those reasons, bringing your ranged characters to this fight is best, such as Bow and Catalyst users. That way, you can keep dealing damage to him at all times, despite the fact that the boss is in the air. The Wolflord has a Geo shield and resistance, but bringing at least one Geo character is still advisable.

That is because of his shielding phase. During this phase, he will spawn three blue wolf skulls around the arena. You need to destroy all of them in time, and they take extra damage from Geo. While the skulls are present, the boss deals extra damage and can’t be damaged in turn. However, once you destroy all three skulls, they launch at him and destroy his shield, but more importantly, he falls to the ground for a long time, which allows you to pump a lot of damage into him.

Depending on your party strength, you may have to repeat this cycle a few times, but it’s certainly possible to beat him in a single post-shield phase. Focus on dodging his attacks and dealing damage while waiting for the opportunity to bring him down.

What is Riftborn Regalia used for in Genshin Impact

Riftborn Regalia is used to ascend two characters in the game. Both of them are Geo characters, with one being the 5-Star crimson oni Arataki Itto, and the other is the 4-Star opera performer from Liyue, Yun Jin. They require 46 Riftborn Regalia each for full ascension, which means that you’ll have to revisit the Golden Wolflord many times over.
