The Rainbow Six Majors will be returning this year, with a live audience

It's been a while, but fans can soon check out the Majors in North Carolina.

Fans of the competitive side of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege have had to make do with online tournaments for the last couple of years. Due to the pandemic, Ubisoft has understandably had to restructure its live esports events since 2020, much to the disappointment of the fanbase. But the Rainbow Six Majors are due to return this year, and with a live audience, no less.

Ubisoft announced today that the next Six Major will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina, from May 16-22. On top of that, while the initial group stages will still be played behind closed doors, the company revealed that the playoffs and the grand final, scheduled for May 20-21 and May 22 respectively, will be open to the public. Further details of the exact venue and ticketing are yet to be revealed, but will likely come out in the next few days.

François-Xavier Deniele, Ubisoft’s senior director for esports and competitive gaming, commented that “we couldn’t be happier to open the doors of the Six Charlotte Major and welcome back our community on site for the Playoffs,” after two years stuck behind a screen. The company added that the health and safety of everyone present would be a “top priority,” and that the event would follow sanitary regulations in line with those of the state.
