Sea of Thieves Hidden Content Revealed: Result of Datamining

Sea of Thieves beta build has been datamined and information regarding hidden content has been discovered: Creatures, Enemies, Maps and many other things.

The closed beta of Sea of Thieves is currently going on. With a bumpy start to the beta, it has finally picked up the pace and is going on smoothly. And as for the delay during the initial phase of the beta, the beta has been extended by two days.

Keeping the initial complaint of the gamers aside, one of the consistent complaint of the players about the game is its lack of content. However, a Reddit user by the name of m4rx unravelled a lot of hidden game content via Datamining. For those of you who don’t know what datamining is, it’s basically going through the files (Sea of Thieves game files in this case) via machine learning or any algorithm to surface new information.

He found a lot of new weapons, items, NPCs etc. A few weapons he uncovered are the Blunderbuss and Boarding axe, NPCs like mermaids and the Kraken. And he found all of these within the files of the Beta version, so there is a possibility that these items might not make it to the final game. Only when the game will be released we will know whether all these data mined items will make it to the final game or not.
