A partial list of features that Spring Update will add to Xbox One has been revealed – support for 1440p, Audio Options Mixer Virtual Controller and many other things.
Microsoft has started the rollout of the next, big Xbox One update to gamers included in the Xbox Insider program. As anticipated, the update comes with several new features, that have been unveiled in an official Xbox Wire post.
The Spring update comes with native support for 1440p resolution on Xbox One X, not quite 4K but a good solution for gamers playing on PC monitors with such resolution not willing to downscale to 1080p anymore.
New audio options will be also unleashed, with the ability, for example, of lowering the game audio and raising Spotify in order to listen to music above everything else. Spatial audio will work indeed on compatible surround sound systems.
The mixer is getting even more interactive, with a virtual controller now coming to the transmission, giving the spectator a chance to occasionally tap the A button so that he can have an impact on gameplay – whether good or bad, that’s up to you to decide.
The update is already available for Alpha ring members and will come soon to all the other Xbox One users, most probably in a few weeks.
