According to a new report, Steven Spielberg’s Halo TV show will start filming as early as fall 2018, after being in development for four years with very limited information slipping from time to time from the production process.

Based on what Production Weekly has learned, it seems like producers Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank and Alex Maggioni have already been appointed to the project, and being them from Amblin Television it looks like it’s a confirmation about Spielberg’s involvement (it’s his production company).

Last month, president of programming Gary Levine offered an update after many years of apparent development hell for the TV show.

“[Halo] is absolutely still in development, still moving forward and I’m encouraged by what we’ve seen so far… It’s still live action, and it will definitely satisfy the fans of Halo and I think also satisfy the drama audiences of Showtime.”

It seems like Spielberg wants to focus on the Halo TV show right after he ships the Ready Player One movie, and this is a good news for Master Chief’s fans as this would hint at a major role for the director of E.T. and Schindler’s List, among the others, in the project.
