Rejoice! Nintendo Says Mario Is A Plumber Again

Nintendo has updated Mario’s Bio Data on the official website of Mario, and to our surprise – he has been marked as a Plumber.

Last September, Nintendo updated its Japanese website with a new biography for Mario, the iconic plumber of video games, hinting at the fact he wasn’t a plumber anymore. Luckily enough, things have changed again for better.

“All around sporty, whether it’s tennis or baseball, soccer or car racing, he [Mario] does everything cool. As a matter of fact, he also seems to have worked as a plumber a long time ago…,” said the edited biography back in September.

That bio has been slightly changed to better give the idea that actually nothing has changed after all. Nintendo has indeed added the disclaimer that “his occupation is a plumber. However, his activity is not confined to that area”.

For reference, the added line translates to “his occupation is plumber. however, his activity is not confined to that area”

So there are still plenty spin-offs on their way, a lot of employment opportunities for Mario, but his main occupation is a plumber: our childhood is safe once again, most probably until the next spin-off which will be so good to completely redefine the brand.

The latest game in the series, Super Mario Odyssey, is a Nintendo Switch exclusive and sees Mario – who is a plumber! – use his hat to capture all the creatures he meets to solve puzzle and platform sections.
