Cory Barlog in a recent interview with kinda funny Games said that God of War PS4 will take 40+ hour to beat. Cory provided an example of one of the systems designers who completed God of War PS4 in 43 hours.
During a recent interview with Kinda Funny Games, creative director Cory Barlog has further explained what he meant when, back in the PlayStation Experience keynote, he claimed it would take 40+ hours to beat God of War (previously, it was reported that the singleplayer campaign of God of War is going to be 25-30 hours long).
Barlog took the chance to explain what he meant by saying so, and as it was easily foreseeable, that took into account all the secondary activities and the stuff you can do not only during the adventure but also at the end of it.
“One of the systems designers just did his full playthrough to get 100 percent. So that’s literally doing every single thing in the entire game, and he played 43 hours. 43 hours and he knows what to do,” he said.
“He [worked on] a lot of the exploration content and the engagement outside of the core story. So he had not seen a lot of the core STORY stuff, that part was new to him, so that took a little bit. But everything else, that’s pretty impressive considering he knew what to do.”
God of War is releasing on April 20, so slightly more than two weeks, while the embargo on reviews expires exactly in nine days. This means we’ll very quickly know what to expect from the game thanks to the press’ early impressions.
