During a recent interview, God of War creative director has claimed he won’t ever work on a multiplayer game simply because he doesn’t enjoy competition. It’s ok for him that it exists, but he won’t jump onto making a game based at least primarily on it.

“Competition doesn’t drive me. It’s not to say that competition is bad, it’s not to say that competitive games are bad because I love that those exist, but it’s not my thing,” he told IGN, hinting at that his next titles would be in the style of the latest God of War.

God of War Director Won't Make Multiplayer Games

“It’s not about a competition between multiplayer and single-player,” he added. “It’s not about any of them being alive or dead, right? It is Schrödinger’s cat. We are alive and we are dead at the same time, right? And we will always be that way.”

Well, that’s a good news to hear for people who really enjoyed the God of War soft reboot on PlayStation 4. That’s also an interesting hint at what the creative director might be looking into for his future endeavors.

I’ve already read of people asking for him to keep doing God of War at least for another couple of chapters, as they really loved the way he did the “original” and so, before seeing him embarking on a new IP, they’d prefer to have him completing this trilogy and then think about the future.
