Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen has hinted at the fact that live services for Anthem could be deployed later after the launch of the upcoming, and much anticipated, BioWare third person action game.

EA Hints Anthem Live Service

“We’re careful not to put too large of a forecast in there,” Jorgensen said at their quarterly financial briefing, “and clearly [Anthem] will impact this year as well as next year as we not only continue to sell more into the next year but as we start rolling out the live services associated with that game.”

This could mean several things, not only from a gaming perspective. It could be referred, coming from a man who works in the financial side of the publisher, that monetization tools such as microtransactions could be delivered after the launch rather than be re-balanced at a later stage as it happened with Star Wars Battlefront II.

Of course, this could be something else, too, such as events taking place in several occurrences (the beginning of Spring, for example, was one of them in Monster Hunter World) or spanned over the course of multiple seasons and years.

Probably we’ll learn more when Anthem gets revealed all over again at E3 2018, in anticipation of a launch slated for early next year on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.
