According to EB Games Australia, indeed, the just announced game is not coming anytime soon, as it is planned for a 2019 release. The news was given through a tweet that was later cancelled, but featuring what seemed to be an official promotional banner.
With Rage 2 just revealed and coming only in 2019, it looked like a given that the next Fallout title could be dropping as soon as this year, but it’s not the case apparently.
It’s clear that we’ll learn more at E3 2018, where Bethesda is going to hold the usual press conference and will provide at the very least some intel about what the game is really about.
At this moment, Fallout 76 has not been identified as part of a specific genre, although it’s said to be something totally new for the franchise. Reports claim it is going to be an online survival RPG in the style of DayZ and Rust, while others say it’s still heavily story-focused.
