Paladins Executive Producer via Twitter has revealed why Paladins does not support cross-play between PS4 and other platforms? to this HirezChris replied that Sony is not keen to implement the feature.
Paladins will be available on June 12, 2018, on Nintendo Switch. Players who are willing to play it first can do it on that date by paying $29,99 for a Founder’s Pack, while others will need to wait for a later date in 2018 to grab it free.
Founder’s Pack allows not only for early access, though, but also provides the ability to immediately unlock all Champions and their voice packs now and forever, and contains exclusive cosmetics.
The game will be one of the first and few titles that will allow for cross-platform play between Nintendo Switch and Xbox One, as confirmed by @HirezChris on Twitter. He’s the executive producer for the project.
Interestingly, HirezChris noted that Sony is not interested in cross-play and this is the main reason behind the fact that the support to this feature is not involving PlayStation 4, at least at the moment being.
In the past, other titles have tried and pushed Sony to support cross-play, with Microsoft in person working to convince the Japanese platform owner for Minecraft but also CD Projekt RED for Gwent and Psyonix for Rocket League.
Are things going to change now that the E3 2018 is just around the corner? We’ll see…
Sony is not too keen on x-play. 🙁
