Where to find Darth Vader in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3

Say hello to the season's first boss.

Although he first made his way to the Battle Pass, Darth Vader has finally arrived on Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3’s map. The Sith Lord functions as a boss NPC that any player can take down for one extremely valuable and iconic weapon. That said, the Star Wars villain isn’t as easy to track down as one may think. Here’s where to locate Darth Vader and what to expect when fighting him.

How to find and fight Darth Vader in Fortnite

Unlike bosses in previous seasons, Darth Vader will spawn in a random location at the start of each match. Luckily, you can spot exactly where he is headed from the Battle Bus, as his ship can be seen flying nearby and then landing off in the distance. If you’re unable to track the ship, there will also be a tall blue light highlighting its location once it has touched the ground.

Those willing to go up against Vader should prepare for one hectic battle. This is because the NPC wields his very own red lightsaber and a number of special abilities, like Force Pull and a brutal lightsaber throw. To make matters even more complicated, Darth Vader is accompanied by two Stormtroopers, both of which have the unvaulted E-11 Blaster Rifle. However, you can find a blaster of your own from black Imperial Chests that spawn close to Vader’s ship.

Once Darth Vader is finally taken down, you will then be able to pick up his red lightsaber and even throw it by pressing your aim-down-sights and shoot buttons. The lightsaber will surely put you at a competitive advantage, but there is another strong, new gadget players should also consider. This weapon is the recently added Ripsaw Launcher, a power tool that unleashes damaging blades onto enemies and buildings for 10 seconds — something that should certainly help defeat the Star Wars NPCs.
