“We are not Kingdom Hearts, We are not joining universes, and I know that there are a lot of fans on the team and they would like to have Ciri in the game. But I am totally against it, still,” he said.

Anyway, CEO Marcin Iwinski added that “maybe you will change your mind, There is a little hope there,” leaving at least the door open to the possibility of seeing Ciri and other characters pop up into the game.

On top of that, in another interview, lead cinematic animator Maciej Pietras told VG247that combat will be brutal and even feature a dismembering system to make things a bit more realistic.

“When it comes to combat we have three different types of weapons,” Pietras said. “Each are for a different approach to the gameplay. What I can tell you about hand-to-hand combat is that we will have it; where you can use the katana or other weapons. It’s a cool thing because we have a dismembering system. It’s visceral, it’s brutal.”

Very nice to hear that, as it’ll surely add something to the main sci-fi games we’ve played thus far such as the latest Deus Ex or Mirror’s Edge, which also serve as an inspiration to a certain degree for the game.

Cyberpunk 2077 is releasing for PC, PS4 and Xbox One at some point.
