While the date hasn’t been confirmed yet, pre-order is already officially available on Xbox One – it was communicated by Major Nelson’s blog earlier today –, so this could mean an announcement could be coming in the next few hours.
According to Microsoft Store, Shenmue I & II HD is releasing as soon as next month, as the collection has been listed today on August 21, 2018 for Xbox One (and likely PC and PlayStation 4).
Curiously enough, while the two-game compilation is coming to Xbox One, the third chapter by Yu Suzuki and his Ys.net – not SEGA, then – is dropping on PS4 and PC only next year, despite the second title was back in the days put on the original Xbox alongside Dreamcast.
“SEGA’s most requested re-release of all time finally comes to a new generation. Shenmue delivers an epic story of revenge within a unique open world that is still unrivalled in depth and detail,” the description of the game says. “Return to the epic saga that defined modern gaming. The saga begins…again.”
“In 1986, teenage jujitsu artist Ryo Hazuki returns to the dojo of his father, Iwao Hazuki, only to witness his murder by a Chinese man, Lan Di. Lan Di steals a mysterious artifact known as the Dragon Mirror. Ryo vows to avenge his father’s death and sets out tracing Lan Di’s path.”

Shenmue I & II HD has been revealed with a general 2018 release window, so we’ll stick to that until SEGA provides us with an official press release.
