The character abilities in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes provide multiple passive benefits to your party members. Every character will earn them as they level up a class, unlocking them with each star they earn until they master it. The more classes a character masters, the more abilities you can select and swap out, picking and choosing the best one for every situation. Here’s what you need to know about how to switch character abilities in Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.
How to swap out character abilities
You will need to visit the Convoy page to modify your roster. You can do this by opening up the Main Menu, selecting the “Convoy” option, and picking any characters from the roster list. Choosing any of these characters will list their stats, combat arts, what they have an advantage against in combat, and their current abilities.
After selecting the unit, click the ZR button to move to the “Set Abilities” page, and you can swap out any of the character’s abilities with ones they have not activated. Again, a character can learn more abilities by leveling up and mastering classes. You will want to swap out a character’s class, so they level it up, unlocking more abilities for them to learn.
Not every ability a character learns will be one they want to use. For example, if a character gains Axe Prowess Level One and they become an Archer, they cannot use this ability because it requires them to use an axe as a weapon. If you switch a character out from playing as an archer and they become a Brigand, they won’t be able to use any ability that requires a bow. Make sure to read the benefits of an ability and try to map out the best selections for a particular character’s class before a battle.
