Where to get Wootz Steel

There are multiple ways for you to find Wootz Steel as you progress through your campaign. You might receive it for completing Paralogue missions after defeating Demonic Beasts, or you might have the option to receive it from random events and traders.

Paralogue missions

Paralogue missions are unique opportunities that become available depending on the characters you have in the party. These missions won’t be available if you do not have all the required characters in your roster, which means if you failed to recruit a party member to your house, or one has perished, a Paralogue mission will not appear. Following the conclusion of these battles, Wootz Steel might be one of your many rewards.

Demonic beasts and massive creatures

There are limited-time extra quests for you to find on the map, which typically lead you to a Demonic Beast or a large creature to battle. When these monsters appear in your battle, they will have a yellow icon on the map, acting as a third faction and fighting your side and your enemies. Demonic beasts and large creatures might also appear during regular missions. Upon defeating these monsters, there’s a chance they might drop Wootz Steel as a reward.

Random events and traders

Finally, a Survey location might feature a trader after conquering a territory before the end of a chapter. These traders will offer you a choice between two resources, and Wootz Steel might be one of these options. Although, should you choose Wootz Steel, you miss out on grabbing the other resource.

After you have enough Wootz Steel, take it to your Blacksmith back at camp to see what weapons you can upgrade. You won’t be able to find Wootz Steel every, but every small number of it counts.
