WWE 2K19 Executive Producer Mark Little has shared his vision about how PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett, the next-gen consoles, could improve upon the currently available platforms.

Interestingly, Little expressed one desire that other developers and publisher haven’t disclosed yet in the past: 2K wants more media storage, so bigger Blu-ray with more stuff you can put into them right away without going for an additional download.

“Literally, having blu-rays as our media is challenging, because the advent of 4K gaming means everything is getting better and bigger and bigger, and we try to add more content every year,” he told Express UK.

“One of the challenges we have every year is how do we try to fit everything on to a blu-ray, and then how do you load it fast enough because you’re literally talking 50GBs of data.

It seems like a funny problem to have, but it is one of those challenges we face, and we talk to the hardware guys about it and they’re like, ‘yeah, that’s hard’.”

That request sure doesn’t come as a surprise. 2K is having a hard time when it comes to delivering games without proceeding with an additional download, like it’ll be in the case of Red Dead Redemption 2, releasing with a whopping 105GB.

Hopefully, media storage can get bigger and bigger in the next generations, although we’ve been told for ages that platform holder could be interested in cloud and digital-only consoles.
