The release could tie in with a special Halloween-themed event for the mobile title.
One of Pokémon Go’s most sought-after Pokémon, Spiritomb, could finally be making its way to the game later this month in a special Halloween-themed event, according to Eurogamer.
The report comes after a well known Pokémon Go leaker by the name of Chrales found dialogue in the game’s files for a new Special Research task that could unlock Spiritomb. All you’d need to do is catch 108 Pokemon to have the chance at capturing it.
Spiritomb isn’t the only thing found in the leak. The Halloween event will also introduce a bunch of Gengar-style clothing options to buy from the in-game store. There will also apparently be new avatar items and new Dark- and Ghost-type themed missions.
Niantic is also expected to re-release the Halloween Pikachu sometime this month. The Pikachu usually comes with a special witches hat and is only available to catch this time of the year. It is one of many special hatted Pikachu variants that are only released around holiday seasons.
