NPD Group has shared the official sales data for the month of September 2018 in the United States and, as foreseeable, Marvel’s Spider-Man was the best selling game on PlayStation 4 and overall.

NBA 2K19 and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey were respectively second and third overall, with FIFA 19 fourth most probably since it’s been out for only a couple days in September and “soccer” isn’t as trendy as it’s in Europe over there.

Here’s the software top ten:

  1. Spider-Man
  2. NBA 2K19
  3. Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey
  4. FIFA 19
  5. Shadow of the Tomb Raider
  6. Madden NFL 19
  7. Forza Horizon 4
  8. Destiny 2
  9. Super Mario Party
  10. NHL 19

Talking about hardware sales, PlayStation 4 was the best selling console in September, likely because of the launch of Spider-Man as a much anticipated exclusive from Insomniac Games.

While overall console sales have been losing a 3% in comparison with last year’s September, it’s good to not that this has been the best September for PS4 since 2014.

On top of that, Xbox One has had a growth of over 30% in dollar sales compared with Sept. 2017, and Xbox One X has been Microsoft’s best selling item this year – which means it has had the biggest impact in incomes among the Xbox consoles family.
