It looks like custom games could be coming soon to Fortnite: Battle Royale, as Epic Games has some Twitch broadcasters testing out the feature on their streams today.
The feature allows for a host to set a custom game name that players can type in themselves to join up, so players can play with their friends, or broadcasters can play with their communities.
Twitch broadcaster DrLupo is one of the people testing out the feature today, and he showed how simple it is to join up. First, players must select a server, then a game type like Solo or Squad, and then type in the custom game name. Just like that, the server matches up with players and can fill up as they join in.
Currently there are no features like custom rules or tweaking of settings, but this is a good start. Custom games can open the door for many fun ways to play, but it also will make competitive gaming that much more viable in the title.
There’s currently no planned release date for custom matchmaking in Fortnite, but it seems like it’s working pretty well so far.
