Obsidian Entertainment’s hit series Pillars of Eternity is heading to Nintendo Switch.
Good news for RPG fans interested in expanding their Nintendo Switch library. Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is coming to Switch later this year.
Pillars of Eternity’s sequel was originally announced for PC, Mac, and Linux, and the game’s April 3 release date was revealed just last month. But after ongoing speculation, Pillars of Eternity II’s console version was officially announced today for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, thanks to a report from Game Informer.
The console version will launch several months after the PC release, with the game planned “during the holiday season of 2018” for all three consoles
The original Pillars of Eternity served as a spiritual successor to such classic ’90s computer RPG series like Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale, which dominated PC gaming and inspired such contemporary series as Dragon Age and Divinity: Original Sin. Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire promises to expand on the original, returning to Eora as players track down the god of light and rebirth, Eothas.
Check back for more info on Pillars of Eternity II by April 3, when it releases for PC, Mac, and Linux players.
