With just 17 days left until God of War releases, PlayStation has upped the ante with some exclusive footage showing off new gameplay of the highly anticipated title.

Thanks to PlayStation Underground, we have a first look at a boss fight with a massive troll named Brenna Daudi. According to the video commentary, trolls will all have different names and lore as well as attack patterns.

In this fight, the troll throws lava at Kratos while also wielding a massive pillar as a weapon. Kratos uses his Leviathan axe as a throwable weapon while dodging attacks and getting in close for combo moves.

The video goes on to show some new exploration and puzzle elements in the game, all while utilizing a single-cut camera. The game will seamlessly move in and out of cutscenes and gameplay without even using load screens. It’s impressive to see it in action.

Later, Kratos climbs a mountain while having a conversation with his son, Atreus. The dynamic between the warrior and his child seems to be important and will be a central focus of not only the story, but the gameplay as well.

Videos like these only heighten the anticipation for one of the biggest games of the year. Thankfully, we don’t have much longer to wait as God of War is set to release on April 20 for PlayStation 4.
