Shantae: Half-Genie Hero’s last DLC pack comes out April 10

WarForward has announced that Shantae: Half-Genie Hero’s last DLC pack will be arriving on April 10. Those who helped fund the game on Kickstarter will receive the codes one week earlier, however.

WarForward has announced that Shantae: Half-Genie Hero’s last DLC pack will be arriving on April 10. Those who helped fund the game on Kickstarter will receive the codes one week earlier, however.

The new DLC, Costume Pack, adds three new costumes into the game with their own special abilities. The new costumes will also come with three brand new arcade-style play modes to test players’ individual skills.

The first of these costumes is a Ninja attire, giving Shantae increased speed and the ability to teleport a short distance. She also gains a ranged ability with her shurikens and can bounce off of walls.

The second costume, a Beach Costume, requires Shantae to collect sunscreen in each stage in order to stay alive. With the costume, she gains the ability to fire beach balls across the map to deal massive damage to her enemies.

The third and final outfit acts as a collaboration between Shantae and Mighty Switch Force, another title by WayForward. While using the costume, Shantae can take advantage of the block-swapping gimmick found in the Mighty Switch Force titles in brand new stages.

The DLC will be available with the game’s Ultimate Edition retail release, along with all the previous DLC released for the game over the years. The Ultimate Edition will release on May 8 for Nintendo Switch alongside an exclusive artbook and soundtrack CD.
