We’re now just 11 days away from Kratos’s next adventure when God of War hits the PlayStation 4, and Sony has put out a new video to drum up even more hype for the hugely anticipated entry in the series.

In the new video, director Cory Barlog and lead gameplay designer Jason McDonald talk about how Kratos’s armor and skillset can be customized in the epic title, including examples of how and why you might want to change things around.

Kratos’s armor and weapons can both be customized and upgraded to make different kinds of builds, like one spec’d out for defense or one that’s all about attacking and dealing damage.

“What we wanted to do is make sure that all the customization that we offer to the player fed directly into the core loop of the game,” said Barlog. “All of Atreus’s sort of core abilities, all of Kratos’s core abilities as well as his reactions to cooldowns and how fast those go. All of your damage as well as your ability to take damage, all of those things are factors that you can have control over.”

As the game progresses, you gain new abilities, but you will be able to build Kratos to your playstyle. If you like to be all about aggression and dealing damage, you can add to his attack. If you want to play it safe to prevent getting taken down in one hit, you can add to his defense. Or, a mix of both. It’s really all up to you.

Each facet of Kratos will have a skill tree, such as his axe, his shield, his melee attacks, and more. You can go in to each skill tree and decide which area you want to level up and add to and make Kratos play how you want to.

God of War releases for the PlayStation 4 on April 20.
