The Animal Crossing website is undergoing a massive overhaul, and many fans are speculating that a new game in the series could be revealed sometime in the future.

When accessing the website, fans are greeted by a bunch of various placeholders, and none of the original news files are available. Some news stories even reference older games, like a Kirby title from 2017.

This isn’t the first big hint toward the next Animal Crossing title, though. In January, Nintendo of Japan reportedly filed for a new Animal Crossing software trademark, which covered stuffed animals, controllers, board games, playing cards, trading cards, and protective carrying cases, among other things.

With E3 only a few weeks away, however, fans will be eager to see if a new Animal Crossing title is in development for the Nintendo Switch.
