It’s been a long time coming, but we may finally see Kingdom Hearts 3 out as early as October. Yes, it still sounds like a pipe dream that the game is even (allegedly) coming this year, but it’s real. You don’t even have to pinch yourself to believe it this time.

As far as an October release date, we should take this potential tidbit with a grain of salt, as it stems from an apparent leak via Target’s website.Â
A preorder listing on Target’s website says that Kingdom Hearts 3 will release at the end of October, which means Oct. 31, as in Halloween. The street date listed in the “more information” tab offers a different date from the release date listed under the “preorder now” option, which lists Nov. 1. That’s a Wednesday and a Thursday, neither of which are typically days that games usually release on, so this could still be incorrect.
It’s likely both dates are still placeholders, but given some retailers’ propensity to jump the gun and leak information like this in some cases, it could end up being true.
We’re going to see an official release date for Kingdom Hearts 3 during E3 2018, as Square Enix previously confirmed. A November release would give us a comfortable amount of time to get through the other two games and their spinoffs ahead of time as a refresher.Â
