Monster Hunter: World’s next limited-time event launches on April 18, introducing an Elder Dragon and a new 16-player mission type.

Monster Hunter games have had a maximum player limit of four in the past, so a 16-player mission is exciting, but terrifying at the same time. The game usually increases the difficulty of a mission depending on how many players are in a hunt, so a 16-player monster fight could be ridiculously difficult.

The new Elder Dragon, Kulve Taroth, is the second DLC monster added into the game following fan-favorite Deviljho in March. Kulve Taroth is a massive gold beast that can only be hunted in large teams, according to Capcom’s blog post.

The new quest type, called Siege, requires the collaborative efforts of 16 hunters. These 16 players are split up into groups of up to four hunters who work together to investigate and hunt down the same Kulve Taroth.

The primary goal is to repel Kulve Taroth while destroying parts of the monster to scavenge for items to create exclusive gear. The new update also adds armor and weapon sets based off of this monster.

After the limited-time event ends, Kulve Taroth will vanish and return in the future at an unannounced time. Monster Hunter: World players will definitely want to assemble a squad of 16 players and grab everything they can from this mission.
