Sales of the Nintendo Labo have decreased dramatically in the past week in Japan, with only 26,000 variety kit units sold within the second week of sales.

Nintendo Labo had a relatively good opening week in Japan, outselling the PlayStation 4 exclusive God of War by nearly double the amount of units, even though it only sold 30 percent of its initial shipment (110,000 units).

That figure has now dropped by 80 percent, with the variety kit selling 25,914 units and the robot kit selling just under 5,000 in the Japanese market. The sales figure pushed Nintendo’s latest cardboard craze down to the number four slot in the country, just behind God of War, which sold just under 30,000 copies.

Both Labo and God of War missed out on the top spot due to the launch of Konami’s new baseball game Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 2018, which took the first and second spot respectively on the PS4 and PS VITA.

It isn’t all bad news for Nintendo, however, as the Nintendo Switch saw a slight increase in sales over the previous week (28,752, up from 34.165) to bring to an end a recurring week-by-week loss.

Sales for other Nintendo titles also saw an increase from the previous week, with Splatoon 2 selling 12 percent more copies nationwide alongside Kirby: Star Allies (3 percent) and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (16 percent).
