Undead Labs has announced a technical beta for State of Decay 2 for Xbox One and PC players eager to try out the game before it launches on May 22.
In order to take part, players must own an Xbox Live account even if they are playing the game on a Windows 10 PC. They will then need to sigh up on State of Decay 2’s beta website.
Currently, the website is experiencing issues for anyone trying to sign into the service. Reddit users have reported that the page keeps looping back to the beginning at times after filling in a question, forcing them to start the whole process over again from the beginning.
This error might be down to the large amounts of users currently trying to sign up at the same time but Undead Labs has not released a statement at this time.
As part of the beta announcement, Microsoft has also revealed a bunch of retailer exclusive pre-order items that will be available for the game at launch. Depending on which retailer you order from, you be given a unique car and melee weapon to use in-game from the get go.
Pre-order bonuses will only be available from the Microsoft Store, GameStop, Best Buy, and Amazon. The bonuses will also come with State of Decay 2’s Collector’s Edition which includes a ton of cool zombie-themed goodies, including a latex zombie mask.
State of Decay 2 comes out on May 22 for Xbox and PC. Those who have an active subscription with the Xbox Game Pass will be able to access the game on the same day for no additional charge alongside other Microsoft titles like Sea of Thieves.
