After an impressive start in the UK charts last week, the Nintendo Labo has completely dropped out of the top 10, ending its second week of sales in the number 13 position.

Sales overall fell by 62 percent. Sales in Japan, one of Nintendo’s biggest markets, also fell by 80 percent last week

Nintendo Labo is a new gaming and construction toy by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. Players create cardboard creations known as Toy-Con that can interact with the game through the unique properties of the Nintendo Joy-Con. Some of these include a Piano made out of cardboard that makes sounds on the Switch when keys are played and a Fishing Rod Toy-Con.

It wasn’t all bad news for Nintendo, however. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze has entered the charts in the number two position, losing out to Sony’s God of War, which has dominated the UK charts in the past month.

Mario Kart 8: Deluxe and Super Mario Odyssey continue to sell well in the UK with Nintendo titles making up nearly a third of the top 10 list.

Here’s the top ten for the UK charts this week:

  1. God of War
  2. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
  3. Far Cry 5
  4. FIFA 18
  5. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe
  6. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2
  7. Fallout 4
  8. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds
  9. Star Wars Battlefront II
  10. Super Mario Odyssey

Tropical Freeze is a port of a Wii U title but in less than a week, the game already accounts for 17 percent of the sales of the Wii U and Switch versions combined. The game’s week one sales were nearly 54 percent higher than week one sales of the Wii U version. The Nintendo Switch does have a higher install base then the Wii U had when Tropical Freeze came out, however.

With Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition, another Wii U port, coming out later this month, Nintendo Switch sales could continue to rise as more games come to the system.
